Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your use of Zolo (“the Service”). By creating an account you agree to these terms.

1. The service

Zolo is a software application for freelancers and self-employed professionals to manage clients, projects, invoices, quotes and time tracking.

Important: Zolo is a tool, not an official accounting or tax software. Zolo output does not replace advice from an accountant or tax advisor.

2. Subscriptions and payment

Zolo may be offered in various subscription tiers (free and paid). Paid subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date via settings. Prices are inclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to change prices with 30 days' notice.

3. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Dutch law, Zolo is not liable for:

Incorrect VAT calculations or rates in generated invoices.
Missed tax deadlines or penalties from tax authorities.
Incorrectly extracted amounts, dates or supplier names by AI or OCR functionality.
Financial loss resulting from use of the application.
Data loss due to technical failures beyond our control.

Zolo's maximum liability is limited to the subscription fees paid by you in the three months preceding the claim.

4. VAT return disclaimer

The VAT return overview in Zolo is intended solely as a draft overview to support your administration. It is not an official filing and does not replace the obligation to file via the Tax Authority's portal. Always verify amounts before submission. Zolo is not liable for errors in VAT filings.

5. AI features

AI-generated content (such as quote texts) is intended as a starting point only. You are always responsible for reviewing, editing and approving all AI-generated content before sending it to clients. Zolo is not liable for the content of AI-generated texts.

6. Cancellation and data deletion

You may cancel your account at any time via settings or by contacting admin@getzolo.app. After cancellation, all your data is permanently deleted within 30 days. We recommend exporting your data before cancelling.

7. Fiscal record-keeping obligation

As a business owner, you are personally responsible for complying with the statutory fiscal retention requirement of 7 years (or 10 years for real estate). Zolo deletes data after account cancellation. Make sure to keep an export copy before cancelling.

8. Intellectual property

The Zolo application, design, code and brand are owned by Zolo. Your data always remains your property. We claim no ownership over content you enter or generate in Zolo.

9. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed exclusively by Dutch law. Any disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the district of Rotterdam.

10. Amendments

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days in advance by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
